Saul Benitez Jr, APRN, ACNS was born in McKinney, TX and grew up in Frisco, TX.  Saul earned his Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology from Southwestern University.  After college, he received his Master’s degree in advanced practice nursing from the University of Texas - School of Nursing in Austin, TX. He is currently married and living in East Austin and has two boys.

Saul began practicing at Ascension Seton Heart Failure and Transplant center taking care of advanced heart failure patients and specializing in post-transplant care and follow up.  He then transitioned to South Austin Medical Center and developed the heart failure program taking care of complex heart failure, pulmonary hypertension and amyloidosis.  He currently is working with all the providers at Texas Heart and Vascular in the Advanced Cardiac Care Center.  He continues to take care of complex heart failure patients, pulmonary hypertension and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. 

When he is not at work,  he enjoys listening to live music, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, spending time with his wife and attending his kids sporting events.  His hobbies include running half  marathons, axe throwing and playing recreational sports.
