Put Your Mind At Ease With A Vascular Advantage Screening
Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) is any form of plaque build-up outside the heart. It is estimated that over 12 million Americans have PAD, only 21% of which have actually been diagnosed.
PAD can lead to blockage in the carotid arteries in the neck which can lead to stroke. It can cause abdominal aneurysms which rarely pose symptoms but are 90-95% fatal if they rupture.
PAD can also lead to painful legs, poor circulation and in some cases, loss of a limb.
The Good News
If these risks can be identified, they can be treated. Texas Heart &Vascular offers special screening events at a number of convenient locations.
You will receive a painless 3-part non-invasive VASCULAR ADVANTAGE screening, performed by an accredited technician and evaluated by a board-certified Texas Heat & Vascular cardiovascular specialist.
Insurance and Medicare do not typically cover screening programs. If a problem is detected from the screening, your physician may order a complete diagnostic study.
More comprehensive diagnostic studies are usually covered by insurance if the patient is experiencing specific symptoms.
